Frequently Asked Questions

Question:
Does Acupuncture hurt?
Answer:
Occasionally you might feel a brief prick as the needle passes through the top layers of the skin, where most of the nerve receptors are found. During treatment your Acupuncturist might 'manipulate' the needles. You might feel a mild aching or bruising sensation - this is known as 'Deqi' and is a good sign that the needles are 'working'. This experience is not painful and any mild discomfort quickly passes.
